Surgeries - By Appointment

To make an appointment please phone or call at the surgery between 8.30 am and 5:45pm Monday is generally the busiest day and arranging routine appointments on other days is usually easier. We would also request that appointments before 9am and after 5pm should be kept for those who are unable to attend during the middle part of the day.

Urgent Appointments

If you feel you need to be seen urgently it is better to telephone to arrange an appointment rather than drop in at the surgery. Some conditions can wait a little while, so please be patient if a doctor is not available at a time which suits you.

Extended Hours

We offer appointments between 6.30 pm and 8.00 pm on Monday evenings each week.  We also offer early morning appointments between 7.00 am and 8.00 am on one morning each week.

Text Messaging

80% of missed appointments are due to forgetfulness or patients simply feeling better.  Missed appointments increase waiting times for all our patients.  To help improve our patient services, we will send you a FREE reminder via text before your appointment.  Should you nol longer need your appointment; early cancellation will enable us to provide care to another patient.  It couldn't be easier to register - just please let us know your mobile telephone number.  Details provided will be used solely for general contact purposes and will not be passed onto third parties.  Please do not forget to inform us when your details change.

Home Visits

Please phone between 8:30am and 10am unless an emergency. Home visits are really only for the housebound and seriously ill. Seeing a patient at the surgery has the advantage of better examination arrangements and treatment facilities.

We are able to see a greater number of patients at the surgery in the time it takes to do a visit so it is a much more efficient use of time. If you cannot manage the trip under your own steam there is usually someone around with a car who can help you, a taxi is an alternative.

Please give as much detail of the problem to the practice nurse or receptionist who will take your call before passing the information on to the doctor. The doctor will then decide whether a visit is necessary and make the appropriate arrangements.
