Flu Clinics 2010

We are holding flu clinics on Saturday 9th October and Saturday 23rd October.  Vaccinations will be offered to those patients over the age of 65 or patients that fall into an "at risk" group (as set by the Department of Health).  Please check with the receptionist if you are unsure of your eligibility.

Text Messaging

Missed appointments increase waiting times for all our patients.  To help improve our patient services, we will send you a FREE reminder via text before your appointment.  Should you no longer need your appointment early cancellation will enable us to provide care to another patient.  It couldn't be easier to register - simply provide your mobile phone number and a day or so before your next appointment you will receive a reminder detailing the date and time direct to your mobile phone.  Sign up now!  Never miss another appointment.

Training

This Practice is a recognised teaching practice for the Peninsula Medical School and from time to time trainee general practitioners, medical students, trainee health visitors, pupil midwives and student nurses will receive a very important part of their education on the premises.

Most patients have no objection to having any of the above students or doctors present in a consultation, but some problems are best dealt with in complete privacy and all patients will obviously be notified in advance if a student is to be present. The student will leave before the patient is called if any objection is expressed to our practice receptionist.

General practitioners in training are called registrars, they are fully qualified doctors but need to complete a final part of their training before they can practice independently. They run their own surgeries and are supervised by one of the regular GP’s in the practice.

Part of training involves taking videos of consultations. When this occurs express permission will be sought before recording taking place. Videos are only use for teaching and training.
